The Molex PowerCat 5e U/UTP cables are 0.52 mm (24 AWG), bare copper wires insulated with polyethylene (non-plenum) or FEP (plenum). They comprise of two insulated conductors twisted together to form a pair and four such pairs laid up to form the basic unit jacketed with flame-retardant PVC. The mechanical characteristics include a pulling tension of 110N (25 lbf).
The Molex PowerCat 5e U/UTP cables are specified and tested to 350 MHz. The cables are ETL verified to TIA-568-C.2 and ISO/IEC 11801. The Molex PowerCat 5e U/UTP cable has 1000 foot to 0 foot markers. The cable meets the commercial standards for North American with TIA-568-C.2 Category 5e, for international with ISO/IEC 11801 and Category 5e European with EN 50173. It has a flame rating non-plenum of UL 1666, CMR, CMG, IEC 332-1, C(UL) and a plenum rating of NFPA 262, CMP.
